You are invited to come to the Artist Reception from 3-6 PM on Saturday, Jan 30, at the winery tasting room. Come get the stories for how our labels were created! Wine Tasting available through 4:30 and wine by the glass through 6 PM.
Does Laura Marion Really Exist? Yes! A Chance to Own Original Art by Laura Marion? Yes!
Many of you have wondered whether that elusive artist that does our fabulous labels really exists. Well folks, we GUARANTEE we will produce Laura Marion, herself, in person, in vivid Technicolor, this weekend at the winery tasting room. Come meet her! And just for you, Laura is putting 40 of her original paintings on sale, a number of them for less than $150. If you’ve always wanted to own an original piece by Laura, here is your chance. But there's more! Had your eye on one of the paintings that is a wine label? These paintings are generally not for sale, but we've got good news! Laura does original copies of these paintings! These masterpieces are from-scratch and painted with the same materials as the original paintings. The copies are nearly identical to the originals; sometimes we honestly have a hard time telling them apart. She's also been really into doing portraits. Be it you and your spouse, your family, your dog, you and your favorite bottle of wine; you name it she will paint it.
But here's the real deal. This weekend you get the chance to see where it all started. Diana Marion, well known artist in the community, will be at the winery as well! The mother and art mentor to Laura and John Evan, Diana will be there to answer all your questions, such as, "Why do I find myself so mesmerized by this flower in your painting?” Or, “I just had a revealing conversation with this pomegranate; can you do a portrait of it for me?” Or even, "Judging by this huge pear, you must know the meaning of life. Do tell." The best part is, she'll be showing and selling her art this weekend as well! In fact I, John the Elder, will be there too, so you can meet the whole darn family this weekend.
